Thanks, Craig. This has been fixed upstream in version 1.2.1. They've
put in the same fix as in the Gentoo bug and I believe cups-1.2.x
requires libpng-1.2.x. Here's their bug:

Unfortunately, their online SVN viewer sucks, so I can't link to the
change. Anyhoo, this should be fixed when BLFS moves to cups-1.2.2
soon. I'll try to get a proper patch made if the package update
doesn't happen soon, but I'm pretty strapped for time right now.
