So, help _us_ out if you expect anybody to be able to help you:

I think that apache does not, in a minimal build, use databases.
Your error was obviously to do with databases, Most people change
httpd.conf in some way - it might be helpful for you to tell us how
you have changed it.

You didn't bite on my suggestion that you'd copied httpd.conf from
an existing system, so I guess you've just edited what got
installed, and are running on a boring x86 machine.

Do you know that the pages you are trying to serve are ok, or are
they untried/untested ?

The book shows various optional dependencies for apache - did you
install any of them ?

If that doesn't help, perhaps you will need to tell us what your
html is doing when this error occurs - presumably it is tied to
_some_ of your pages, and the default "the install worked" page
doesn't give a problem ? I see you've now got problems with php,
so I guess you are trying some sort of LAMP setup. As in all
things, the best advice is usually to break things down into simple
parts. So, first prove that static pages work, then add one thing
at a time - at a minimum, you will then know exactly where it is
breaking.

Also, we're assuing you know what you are doing, e.g. you've set up
apache before, the difference now is that you've built it for
yourself. Please correct any false assumptions - the list as a
whole will help as best it can, but that help is usually better if
we don't have to guess.

Lastly, you might want to check the time on your system(s) - your
reply from kmail is dated earlier than your original message from a
heretical system ;)
