Hi Dennis,
What started this thread was that I was trying to compile
gnome-volume-manager and another package and was running into the
problem about popt. Once I recompiled popt I started recompiling the
packages that depended on it and was stuck trying to get them to
recompile and never tried to move on and try volume-manager again. It
just compile without a hitch and I got a couple of other things working
that I had been working on when I hit this snag. I'm not sure I trust
the other packages but I haven't seen any problems yet so I won't look
for trouble that doesn't get in my way. Thanks for your advice.
