Dan/Shawn,
Now I am totally confused. Before I went on to other things I decided
to build another package and do what I said. I chose gcalctool. I did a
find for the gcalctool.desktop and found it in /usr/share/applications/.
Ran the update and bang there was a new sub-menu accessories on my
applications menu and I selected the Calculator item and it popped right
up just like it was supposed to. What I am confused about is why the
other things didn't show up. The only thing I can think of is that the
other applications don't support XDG. I'll pay more attention to that in
the future. Sorry for wasting everyone's bandwidth. :-(

Arnie
