Hi All,
I have been on a quest to get all facets of video and audio working on
my new system. As it turns out after I created dbus and hald when I
insert an audio CD in the drive totem starts up and plays it. If I shut
it down and try to restart totem from the command line and then select
to play the CD I get errors from totem that
/usr/lib/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/libcdda.so is not there. I did a bunch of
Googling and find that gnome-vfs has that module available in it but the
BLFS instructions don't make it. You need to add --enable-cdda switch to
build it. If you run ./configure --help it says that option is "not
recommended". My assumption is that if I had a libcdda.so I would be
able to play the CD under the situation described above. Why is the
building of that module not approved? Is there one available somewhere
else? I couldn't find one. Ideas? Suggestions? Has anyone else found a
way around this?

Arnie
