Shouldn't be a problem if you're happy to use the binary-only drivers
from nVidia. No kernel or Xorg recompiling needed - just get run the
installer and edit Xorg.conf to use the right driver (nvidia, not nv).
Note, though, that the binary only driver is not *required* it just
happens to be useful if you want decent performance in 3D games and the
like. Myself, I just use the 'nv' driver in Xorg. If you do use the
NVidia driver make sure to get the latest version as it apparently fixes
a security vulnerability in previous versions (being binary only, noone
but NVidia knows for sure whether it's fixed or not, or whether any
similar vulnerabilities still remain) -
