Hi. I've got an old win95 laptop, with no networking,
and I'd like to get an IrLan connection to it for some file transfer.
>From my LFS laptop that is. They recognize each other (on irda) and
I have nearly all irda-stack stuff compiled in my kernel.

I got irda-utils (only partly, 'cause the mean little developers
don't state on the website that part of them need pkg-config and glib,
which I don't have)

I got no pppd, 'cause I'm waiting for stable BLFS 6.2 for my LFS 6.2, so
I figured out I could only use Irlan. I've already tried searching google
and linux faqs, but they all just say I can use irlan with win95. No
instructions.

I found one site with linux instructions, Jean's. It says I should use
ifconfig for that. But there's none. I found and old post in the list saying
there's none 'cause ip does it all.

So how do I use ip for an irlan connection?

And I could also use some advice for what to do on the Win95 side?

Oh, and do I need to enable some sharing or something to transfer files?

Lauri
