Hi Arden,
        Check out the 'man cp' under GNU options. When I need to copy a lot of
data I usually use tar | tar method. I usually am doing that with data
though not system bin directories.


GNU OPTIONS
       -a, --archive
              Preserve  as much as possible of the structure and
attributes of
              the original files in the copy (but do  not  preserve
directory
              structure).  Equivalent to -dpPR.
