Meanwhile I am running windows smootly on an Linux environment, Linux From Scratch version 6.2, Kernel 2.6.18. The module "vboxdrv" is loaded during the boot process introducing a "vboxdrv" in the file/etc/sysconfig/modules. A script is not needed. Windows was intalled after calling VirtualBox on a shell and works without problems. We made the same installation in three different PC's at home. In one of them a sensible banking program with encrypted communication is also working fine. At moment, we can not find differences to Windows running in the original environment. VirtualBox user's manual is a very good information source. Some friends of us, members of the local Linux Users Group working as independent consultants reported that they now use only Windows running in Linux VirtualBox ( some of them use also VMware ). VirtualBox is very young but seems to have a pretty potential. We are not an enterprise, of course. Three PC's and one laptop are interconnected. So we can not talk about large scale experiences, but I would be confident, that it is worthwile to try it. Good luck !
