Can you see if this patch can help: http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/media-video/transcode/files/transcode-1.0.2-new-ffmpeg?rev=1.1&view=markup I have ffmpeg-0.4.9-p20061016 installed ATM, but without that patch I obtained the same error.
