Thinking /usr/{lib,bin} were a bit cluttered, I don't put X in /usr. 
I've been adding these lines to .mozconfig:
ac_add_options --x-includes=/usr/X11R7/include
ac_add_options --x-libraries=/usr/X11R7/lib

Works here, ymmv
