Hi, I am having problems configuring nfs on my small home network of two computers.
- have installed nfs-utils-1.0.11 on server and client (nfs-utils-1.0.12). nfs-utils-1.0.10 would refuse to compile due to some bug. - have installed netfs on server and client and is running. - the network is setup through a small hub to which adsl modem output as well as both computers are connected. - internet is functional on both systems. - ping is working to and from server and client. - both computers have (X)LFS-6.2. - config files have been setup as given in the book. - using kernel-2.6.20 on server and 2.6.20.7 on client. - nfs has been enabled in the kernel as required. - portmap has been installed and is running - nfs-server and nfs-client have been activated on server and client respectively and are running - telnet and ftp though installed, are NOT working between server and client. The problem is that i cannot mount the server volumes on to the client either manually or through fstab. Do i need to install BIND9 or something else? grateful for guidance Regards, Randhir Phagura _________________________________________________________________ Voice your questions and our experts will answer them http://content.msn.co.in/Lifestyle/AskExpert/Default01.htm -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
