In Chapter 12/Programming, in the Perl-Modules section, there is an 
allusion to "cpan" to be used for semi-automated retrieval and 
installation of perl modules.  Information about cpan is available at 
cpan.org.

Where in the BLFS book is the cpan shell installed?

Oh wait... I see it now... It comes For Free with Perl in LFS Chapter 
6.32.
