Hi

Here's the environment:

LFS-6.3 compiled exactly by the book using lfslivecd-x86-6.2.5 as host. No compiler optimizations used.
Xorg-7.2 per BLFS svn
KDElibs-3.5.6 with all dependencies as listed( no deviations from book)
KDEbase-3.5.6 with all dependencies as listed( no deviations from book)

Running 'startx', the kde environment loads fine. The problem occurs when Konqueror is opened from the kde start menu. Konqueror loads partially then causes Xserver to use 100% cpu and the gui locks up. Mouse functionality remains ok. Also, if I invoke konqueror from the prompt with a url:

konqueror http://www.linuxfromscratch.org

it opens ok. FWIW, I did an strace on konqueror. Aside from a bunch of missing icons, the following line appears probably over 2000 times throughout the trace:

read(3, 0x8055c7c, 4096) = -1 EAGAIN (Resource temporarily unavailable)

Not sure if it's relevant.

I have alway found kde to be problematic and would venture to say that this is a kde issue rather than lfs, but I thought I would post this to see if anyone had any similar experiences before posting a bug report with kde. Any help is appreciated.

Regards,
