Hi,

I have just installed LFS for the first time and I'm able to boot into it
without any problems at all. However, I am trying to connected it to the
internet, through my new broadband connection, but I'm a bit out of my depth
with it, and can't get it to work. I have installed the following programs
that I thought would get it to work:

DHCP-3.0.5 (with the client only);
Net-tools-1.60;
Lynx-2.6.8 (without any of the optional dependencies);

I have installed LFS 6.2, and I'm trying to work my way through BLFS 6.2.0.

When I now boot into my LFS, I get:

...
Starting kernel log daemon...
Bring up the eth0 interface...
Interface eth0 doesn't exist.
...

I have been using my broadband connection on Windows XP for a few days now
and it works fine. When looking at information about the connection, it says
that it is "Assigned by DHCP" (which was why I used DHCP-3.0.5). The
ethernet connection type is "VIA Compatable Fast Ethernet Adapt". My router
is "ZyXEL P-600 series".

Thanks for any help given, and if you need any more information, please ask.
Also, although I have an understanding of how to use Linux, my understanding
of how to configure and set up Linux is quite limited (which is why I
decided to set up a LFS), so I apologise if I haven't done something which
might be obvious.

Steven
