Hey all... wondering if anyone can explain this. I've just built a new machine, with 2GB memory - a pair of 1GB chips. BIOS reports 2GB, and running Memtest86 shows 2MB, reporting no problems with any of it.
However, booted into Linux, more than half of it isn't being seen. 'top' reports 906740k, which is also the figure listed in /proc/meminfo. Can anyone suggest why this is? Rather disconcerting, I have to say...
