That looks good but the problem is that the prerequisites include things that 
are not a part of LFS (a working unprivledged user acount and an internet 
connection).

I think most (maybe all) of the people who have posted on this thread are 
highly experienced using Linux and take for granted little details like 
configuring a system from scratch since they do these things quite frequently. 
But even if a person has been working on an off-the-shelf Linux distro at home 
for about a year they may not know all the ins and outs of configuring a system 
from scratch. Ideally, one should be able to boot into their new system then 
use BLFS to create all the neccesary configuration files for bash, readline, 
etc.

Yes, you can always continue using the host system and chroot into the LFS 
environment as suggested at the end of LFS but this is not an ideal solution. 
Although a fresh LFS is not complete, it is bootable and it does have Texinfo 
so why can't BLFS be available as an info page?
