I've tried to compile OpenOffice both as unprivileged user as well as root.

As unprivileged user, 'dmake' stops without error at this point:

 > ------------------------------
 > Making: ../../unxlngi6.pro/slo/cairo_cairo.obj
 > g++  [snipped]
 > ---* tg_merge.mk *---
 > ---* *---

As root, 'dmake' stops with this error:

 > BUILD FAILED
 > /mnt/p12/office/OOG680_m9/hsqldb/unxlngi6.pro/misc/build/hsqldb/build/
 > build.xml: 269: Compile failed; see the compiler error output for
details.

In both cases, the directory 'unxlngi6.pro', as in the BLFS book command

 > pushd instsetoo_native/unxlngi6.pro/OpenOffice/native/install/en-US/
 > linux-2.6-intel/buildroot/opt

is missing, so I can't copy the installation to /opt. In the build-tree
there is
nowhere such a directory as 'buildroot'.

I've archived the output of the configure, bootstrap and dmake commands for
both users (unprivileged/root), as well as a list of environment
variables, if that
helps.

Any hints appreciated!
