You are wrong my son. I do report finding to help others. > I'm only speaking for myself, of course, says it all, ... ...you are always free (however unprovoked) to vent spleen... ... lets hope for your peace of mind it provides a good contrast to kindness. ############### incidently for the rest on list I came across this link which proivides some enlightenment:- http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=65479 It is the 'device-notifier' problem I have - plus absence of the CDROM. It seems the problem man be particular to kde-4.2.x. I have upgraded my setup with autofs using the defaults suggested by blfs (autofs.html) Inserting a CDROm now mounts the CDROm at /media/auto/cd. However the device door stays locked until logout. I also have links for sticks with vfat and ext2. Curious the vfat partition (the first) mounts) but the ext2 does not. Both mount points show up. Both show up in the KDE 'plasmoid-device-notifier' also. Report of any ways on how plasmoid may/could be made to point to mount points created in /etc/auto.misc would be gratefully received. sincerely lux-integ -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
