I'm running LFS 6.4 and have just installed KDE-4.3 without to many probs.
Previously, i.e KDE-4.2, I had satisfied all the dependencies. With this latest
version I cannot boot into KDE I'm thrown staight back to the command prompt,
from root and user. I'm starting with 'startx' with a ./xinitrc that contains
the following 'echo "exec dbus-launch --exit-with-session startkde"'. This has
worked previously. I've tried sh -c "startx > X.log 2>&1" which gives:

/usr/bin/startx: line 142: xauth: command not found
/usr/bin/startx: line 144: xauth: command not found

waiting for X server to shut down FreeFontPath: FPE "built-ins" refcount is 2,
should be 1; fixing.

/usr/bin/startx: line 159: xauth: command not found

NOT that informative, or is it?

Have also tried sh -c "startkde > X.log 2>&1" which gives:

$DISPLAY is not set or cannot connect to the X server

have tried DISPLAY 0:0 or something similar in .bashrc, makes no difference.

Any advice appreciated
