My personal workaround is to run the script as root since root doesn't need any password to become the new user. Though, it may be dangerous and you need to know what you are doing.
Otherworldly, you can have something like this: #!/bin/bash chown whatever ./file su - lfs -c lfsscript.sh do_some_rootly_tricks argsX chroot ... do_some_rootly_tricks argsY revisedchroot ... #EOF Maybe I should post my experimental bashish lfs autobuild one of these days. Good luck, Dominic.
