I'm not sure if she's the right person to ask, but I have two technical
improvement suggestions for Gnome. I know Gnomes moto is to keep the interface
simple, but when I copy and paste a file in Nautilus, and the file names are
the same, it doesn't compare the date that each one was created or their size.
It just asks, "Would you like to replace this file, Yes or No." It would be
nice if Nautilus compared them so I could always paste the most recent version.
(This is especially useful when copying multiple files with the same name from
a different source). Also, when I open a file from Nautilus, the window focus
switches to the newly opened program, but when I click on Nautilus' icon on the
task bar to go back to browsing my files, it minimizes Nautilus instead of
going back to it. Then, I have to click on the Nautilus task bar icon a second
time to re-maximize its window. Maybe I'm just picky, but these are interface
improvements that I believe would make my work flow more productive.
