If you don't have system-local.conf then this could be your problem. It should contain: <!DOCTYPE busconfig PUBLIC "-//freedesktop//DTD D-BUS Bus Configuration 1.0//EN" "http://www.freedesktop.org/standards/dbus/1.0/busconfig.dtd";> <busconfig> <!-- Search for .conf files in /etc/gnome/2.28.2/dbus-1/system.d --> <includedir>/etc/gnome/2.28.2/dbus-1/system.d</includedir> </busconfig> Substituting the correct Gnome version.
