I have a sneaking feeling you are correct here. The problem when I compiled atlas is I did not have libgfortran I had to to link against libgfortranbegin.a (details are given here ( http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/blfs-support/2010-April/067147.html). I dont know if its a problem with x86_64 (64 bit) gcc-4.4.2 buulds. (I compiled gcc with --enable shared) I have just downloaded gcc-4.5.0 (where lingfrortranbegin is depreciated) and going to have aa go at building it and see if I get libgfortran.so (or at least libgfortran.a). So I may well have to rebuild atlas, lapac their dependencies and other programs reliant on them. if you or anyone on list know how to force gcc to make gfortran libs ( shared libs) (on x86_64) (or how to solve the linker problems in the linked email herein) I would be grateful for advice. sincerely lux-integ -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
