yes the ordinary is part of the audio group

I doubted this would be effective gave it whirl and  was proved correct.


but thanks for the  advice,   Its not a mount problem that I have. (And as I 
said  I have both autofs and pmount installed. )  Once the usb stick is seen 
the  ordinary user CAN mount it with R/W access..  The problem is that it is 
not  seen  except it is inserted at boot time..  So it seems like a 
hotplug/hal  problem.
