I ocassionally use it. It works. ISTR if there is anything in the tracking dir (/var/lib/jhalfs/BLFS) that is not expected, it will get some error because it then manages to feed itself an empty string as an xml file to parse. But I think that is something different than this error. There is probably something wrong in the setup or the selections.
