Telly, But you should not have had to do that if the file size is less than the amount of free space on the drive. (Also, from your original post, I thought you were trying to copy *from* the flash drive.) You can call the command df when the drive is mounted to see how much space you have. You should be able to fill the free space without error. One thing to check is the amount of "secure area" on that flash drive and try setting it to zero if it is not already zero.
