Thanks - using wget I've got a valid tarball. Using 7.0.1 (and
renamed to .orig after I found it was corrupt) was quite different.

ken@ac30 ~ $md5sum /sources/firefox-8.0.source.tar.bz2*
9395a5be13da119bd8d53c3225e5d17c /sources/firefox-8.0.source.tar.bz2
f47284ce83fae85129d83617a9c90800 /sources/firefox-8.0.source.tar.bz2.orig

ken@ac30 ~ $ls -l /sources/firefox-8.0.source.tar.bz2*
-rw-r--r-- 1 ken 100 70377448 Nov 9 19:54 /sources/firefox-8.0.source.tar.bz2
-rw-r--r-- 1 ken 100 70377448 Nov 9 18:11
/sources/firefox-8.0.source.tar.bz2.orig

Odd, everything else I've downloaded from 7.0.1 seems ok (but is,
of course, a lot smaller).
