From time to time, I have posted updates on what I've been building. This serves to record the versions that I find work adequately in my usage, what order I'm building things in, and (in the buildscripts) lets people see how I build things.
I don't expect people to *use* my buildscripts - the infrastructure works for me, but a lot of it is specific to my hosts (of course, if you have machines that match the hardware specs of mine, and have the same hostnames, ... ) - but it may give people ideas, particularly if you ever feel the desire to upgrade for vulnerabilities (e.g. for anything in cups-ghostscript-gutenprint I trash the existing install and rebuild, for some things I patch multiple versions, for others I just move to the current version). Unusually, this time I've included my server build. Most of the data is at http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~ken/desktop-builds/buildscripts-2011-11/ with the package-list summarising the build order, versions, patches. The patches (including an ati revert which seems to have dropped out of my list) are either in lfs-patches or else in http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/~ken/desktop-builds/patches-and-sources-2011-11/ People following Bruce's recent updates to BLFS will note that a lot of my package versions are now a bit old, so from here on I'll be going back to the bleeding edge for a bit (well, once I've updated my LFS scripts for 7.0). Share and enjoy, or look, laugh, and weep (that's particularly for those who do things better than I manage). Also, be aware that some of the scripts (primarily the ppc / ppc64 items) haven't been used in ages and indeed my ppc64 LFS build never really worked. ĸen -- das eine Mal als Tragödie, das andere Mal als Farce -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
