Hi Ken, As I said, I managed to successfully build/install 8.0 (NOT 8.0.1, but I cannot see important differences around your problems): <http://linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/blfs-support/2011-November/068769.html> I think the key is the way GTK-2 is built. Basically (if my notes are correct and memory serves), I created a "gtk+-2.24.5-old_icons-1.patch" modeled after DJ's "gtk+-2.22.1-old_icons-1.patch". Then the usual, patch -Np1 -i gtk+-2.24.5-old_icons-1.patch ./configure --prefix=/usr --sysconfdir=/etc make make install # On 2011-07-14 20:15 The later build and install of Firefox-8.0 went without a hitch. (Note: at one point in configure/build there was something like: checking for gtk+-2.0 >= 2.10.0 gtk+-unix-print-2.0 glib-2.0 gobject-2.0 gdk-x11-2.0... yes) Note: As far as "engines", I ended up with []$ ls -og /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.10.0/engines -rwxr-xr-x 1 2302 2011-07-14 20:15 libpixmap.la -rwxr-xr-x 1 113430 2011-07-14 20:15 libpixmap.so -rw-r--r-- 1 138238 2009-06-27 13:36 libsvg.a -rwxr-xr-x 1 1599 2009-12-18 16:39 libsvg.la -rwxr-xr-x 1 111032 2009-06-27 13:36 libsvg.so All firefox stuff looks OK (icons, buttons, etc.). None of your problems. Hope if not help, my words could bring you some solace. -- Alex -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
