We *are* talking about the open drivers, since this is Mesa / libdrm. But while your explanation may be correct, the text in the book looks like a possible error - particularly since it doesn't even mention the Nvidia cards that the driver is written for. And if not an error, some clarification would be in order to make it look less like one. Simon.
