For now, if you only need the client, use dhcpcd.

It worked for me.  I didn't write that section (will I did many years 
ago), but just following the instructions seems to be OK.  I install in 
/opt/xorg.

I know you want to script everything, but did you try a manual install 
first?  That is the script for each of the six sections that needs it 
(six sections)?  Starting with a global script seems to be putting the 
cart before the horse.
