Both hesitated for a long time when booting, after which the older one with a Radeon HD 3600 Series made the display unusable; lots of colors in a fine-grained display. The newer one with a Radeon HD 5500 Series displayed 240x75 characters on a 1920x1200 screen. X worked normally.
I both built and ported LFS-7.1; both are slow. I ported LFS-6.8 and 7.0; both work normally. I used Xorg-7.6 with LFS-7.1 since Xorg broke something after that. Xrandr modes won't pan properly. So LFS-6.8 and 7.1 have the same Xorg. Therefore; I suspect something in LFS or in the BLFS stuff I loaded before Xorg. I guess I will eventually try LFS-7.0 with newer BLFS and/or LFS-7.1 with older BLFS, and see which one works. -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
