That's why I > love mutt Please trim off the footers when replying. I use seamonkey. When I send a message to the list or reply to the list, the client automatically saves a copy of what I sent. An original message goes into 'Sent' no matter who it's addressed to, but that's OK. A reply goes in the same folder where the original message is located. Incoming messages go to different folders depending on rules I set up via a fairly easy to use 'Message Filter' tool. If gmail also sent me copies of what I sent, I'd have a lot of duplicates and I'd have to try to figure out how to remove them.
