make fails in 'demos' with

pure x11 runs fine. as i'm used to save the partitition after basic lfs
(including some packages from blfs before booting the new system) and
again after building the x11-basics (befor starting x11 to continue
building from withing x11), i restored the x11 'snapshot' several times
and tried to find the problem. but i'm to blind to see...
i tried the following:
libpng 1.5.10 and 1.5.9, as 1.5.9 was ok for my last build. including
the apng-patch as i intend to build firefox later.
mesalib 8.0.3 and 8.0.2, as 8.0.2 was ok for my last build.
pixman 0.24.4 config-log says 'checking for PNG... yes'
gdk-pixbuf 2.26.1 sucessfully builds libpixbuf-loader-png.{so,la}
cairo 1.12.2 including the expose-shapshot.patch.
config-log says 'checking for png...YES'
i included the following additional switches
--enable-xml (fine, libxml2-2.8.0 is installed)
--enable-gl (fine)
--enable-xlib-xcb (fine)
--enable-drm (fails, despite libdrm 2.4.33 is installed)
the failures are in 'drm/cairo-intel...'
unknown type name 'cairo_pattern_union_t'
unknown type name 'cairo_gradient_pattern_t'
i tried to build gtk with almost all possible combinations.
with no sucess!
i now continue with libpng 1.4.10, mesalib 8.0.3, cairo 1.12.2 with all
mentionned --enable-flags, and gtk 2.24.10 disabling the demo build with
sed 's#modules demos tests#modules test#g' Makefile.in.
maybe i'll have issues later on, but i can continue to build my new
system. nevertheless, i'd really like to know what's wrong with my gtk
build.
