I have same lets say problem on my machine with a laser usb mouse. That 
event seems to occour when laser "blinks" ... When it turns off, it is 
disconnected, when it turns on, it is connected. I am not sure if it is 
hardware problem or kernel or something else, but you can surpress it 
like Bruce said in his reply.
