This is probably Off-OT :) I converted a PNG image to SVG using Vector Magic (just for the heck of it).
To put things in proper perspective: 1. Assuming DJ-"I'm not a graphics guy by any means"'s graphics expertise is 100% my expertise would be around 3%. 2. If Andy-"any svg generated by an automated tool is as ugly"'s sense of beauty is 100% mine would hover around 10%. With those proportions in mind I find the SVG resulted image after my quick, _uneducated_ test, pretty good. I used GIMP to send them a PNG snapshot and after about five minutes I could download their automated, demo SVG rendition for comparison. If anybody would like to pursue this fascinating topic: I don't know how (of if possible) to upload to BLFS support: the PNG file: ~ 265K and the SVG file: ~ 677K, for your eyes (only). Cheers, Alex PS Warning: Vector Magic is kinda un-Linux-like: it charges money. -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
