 I can see that my own most recent build used the 1.12.2 server, but
the book is at 1.12.3.  I don't suppose that the version increment
make a lot of difference, and I haven't built 32-bit x86 for ages,
so I don't have any suggestions.  Out of interest, which video
hardware are you using ?
