Few months ago, someone talked about MariaDB on the mailing lists and if 
it should replace MySQL in BLFS. We agreed to wait and see what will 
other distributions do.

The situation is improving. I can count at least 4 distros that are 
either going to switch to MariaDB or have already made a switch.

Since I have installed Archlinux on this machine, I don't see any 
difference between MySQL and MariaDB ...

Should we follow others or still offer MySQL as the default database? 
I'd rather keep MySQL but support MariaDB, too.
