There are a couple of things I've found that I like about cmake. First of all, it's easy to avoid polluting the source- mkdir build && cd build && cmake .. Passing parameters with -Dsome_long_name is a little cumbersome, but finding 'cmake -LA ..' which seems to be the equivalent to ./configure --help has helped. Also, I bet you'd find autotools equally loathsome if you didn't have years of experience with it. I especially do not like libtool. Give the choice, I'd take cmake over libtool anytime. I guess my views are affected by the fact that I used Qt for several years and it uses qmake. That is closer to cmake than autotools. -- Bruce -- http://linuxfromscratch.org/mailman/listinfo/blfs-support FAQ: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs/faq.html Unsubscribe: See the above information page
