Can anyone comment about why I am seeing this in the messages of all three
of my BLFS systems...

[ 3.411285] EXT4-fs (sda1): INFO: recovery required on readonly
filesystem
[ 3.411343] EXT4-fs (sda1): write access will be enabled during recovery
[ 4.053993] EXT4-fs (sda1): recovery complete
[ 4.062117] EXT4-fs (sda1): mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
Opts: (null)

I don't know when this started. Maybe it's even normal. I just happened to
notice it fly by during booting the other day. The systems boot quickly,
work well, and shutdown and reboot well. They all are in single ext4 root
partitions, are built on LFS v7.3, and currently run the v3.9.0 kernel. I
shut down and reboot from the Fluxbox menu with 'shutdown -h now' and
'shutdown -r now'.

I can run fsck on the unmounted root partition from another system, and
that gets rid of the messages for one boot. Then its back the next time.

I have searched the Internet for days for something I should know or can
do. There is not a shortage of things to read there, but the discussions I
have found either don't change my situation or they talk about things not
related to me (e.g., KDE issues, unclean shutdown, etc.). Many Internet
discussions of this matter are several years old.

I just want to know what is happening, why, and what I need to do about it.

Thanks,

A.Radley
