Tried all, they seem right: mozilla's binaries, recompiled xulrunner without system libvpx (had wrong reasons to think about that) and compiled firefox standalone. All, but with xul, have working search box. Have read the patches from that person who does not want to tell the solution, but still cannot guess what he did. He points who asks details to: <https://github.com/remicollet/remirepo/commits/master/xulrunner> The discussion leading to there has "I found the problem" by him at 2013-05-19 18:02:49.
