I don't know what you are doing wrong, but during the libtool install process you should have: /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 './libltdl/m4/argz.m4' '/usr/share/aclocal/argz.m4' /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 './libltdl/m4/libtool.m4' '/usr/share/aclocal/libtool.m4' /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 './libltdl/m4/ltdl.m4' '/usr/share/aclocal/ltdl.m4' /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 './libltdl/m4/ltoptions.m4' '/usr/share/aclocal/ltoptions.m4' /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 './libltdl/m4/ltsugar.m4' '/usr/share/aclocal/ltsugar.m4' /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 './libltdl/m4/ltversion.m4' '/usr/share/aclocal/ltversion.m4' /usr/bin/install -c -m 644 './libltdl/m4/lt~obsolete.m4' '/usr/share/aclocal/lt~obsolete.m4 libtool is pretty simple. As root: ./configure --prefix=/usr && make && make install -- Bruce Thanks, i could finally install libxcb, i dont know what happened with libtool, i installed again for the third time, this time without doing the make check and it worked.
