... some progress ..
once I unset CPPFLAGS
the compilation goes much further.
However it ends as so:-

and this is irrespective of whether CPPFLAGS ( is set )
( I have done the run about times with no flags set and with )
( AND I have never had any problems with libgcrypt before )
