Hi all, As I mentioned yesterday, I am working on creating a build script that builds X-org, X-libs and KDE as RPM's. All of this is based on Baho Utots build system that builds LFS with RPM. I have just adapted the scripts, and expanding them here and there.
My problem yesterday was that I could not build XULrunner. Based on your kind help I thought that I had circumvented the problem (I simply set the mozconfig file to use its own SQLite), bud the build failed at a much later point of time with another error. Now I have another error, and I suspect that it is the same problem that underlies both problems. So I try to solve this one first: When I have build everything (except XULrunner, but it doesn't matter right now) and I log in to KDM I get: Warning: Cannot open ConsoleKit session: Unable to open session: The permission of the setuid helper is not correct. After pressing OK the system boots into the KDE desktop, but sound and power management is not working. A little googling told me that this was probably a D-Bus problem, so I tried to rebuild D-Bus "manually" as pr. BLFS 7.4 and rebooted. Now everything works fine. I then tried to build D-Bus as a RPM, and the error was back. So I can very easily "switch" between the two "states". I have spent hours now browsing each and every file that D-Bus installs, checking ownership and permissions - and they all seem to be just the same in the two "states". No doubt there must be one or more files with wrong permissions, but I simply cannot find them. Can anybody help ? Which file is the "setuid helper" anyway ?
