In looking through the recent BLFS Changelog, I noted that a new version of WebKitGTk+ has been added: version 2.6.0

Now I'm very confused about which of the three WebKitGTK+ versions I ought to install, and why.

According to the BLFS book, we have WebKitGTK+-2.4.6 in two versions:

One built against GTK+ 3.
One built against GTK+ 2.

And we now have WebKitGTK+-2.6.0 built against GTK+ 3.

All three install binaries and libraries named independently.

What are the reasons for building or not building one, two or three versions?

I'm building an LFS systemd version mainly as a learning exercise, so I have no set purpose for it beyond that (if I weren't a glutton for punishment I'd just go with a regular distro).
