 Hi guy,

It's beyond me how you didn't find your direct answer here:
<lists.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/blfs-support/2014-November/076049.html
>

It's a perfect example of a simple, concise, clear, no
beating-around-the-bush,
response to (shall I say) a little "daring" question.

On top of all the qualities listed, the author ends the response with a
terrific sidesplitter to make sure he doesn't somehow appear
he takes himself too seriously even in these trying times for us all.

Now, compare this perfect response to mine,
<lists.linuxfromscratch.org/pipermail/blfs-support/2014-November/076048.html
>

which, I have to admit (under duress) is a textbook example of how one
should NOT answer posts.

The line items below are extracted from some of the points my wife made
when she let me have it after analyzing the said post:

1. The answer (if any - that some other machines may have an extra line

"Direct Rendering Manager (XFree86 4.1.0 and higher DRI support) --->"

in addition to yours)

is hopelessly buried way deep in a lot of extra, unnecessary nonsense and
dead wood which only serves to

1.1. OBFUSCATE an otherwise simple, clear-cut, direct response (like yes or
no - I agree, I disagree. Period).

1.2. Makes me look one more time as the "Smart Alex" and "Know-it-All" that
I'd always been (in dropping highfalutin words like "<M>" and "alternative")

2. Instead of at least, at the end, soften a little bit the harsh tone with
at
least an attempt at levity, even if with a stale and a questionable joke,
all I did, as always, end the post with a silly, disgusting HTML attachment
for which, luckily, cooler heads did me a favor by scrubbing it immediately
and thus saving me an even bigger embarrassment ...

3. Address you as "Hi Guy" or worse, "Pieguy"

3.1. When it's clear that you have a real name as well.
Why so impersonally"?

3.2. Display a phony affectation that doesn't fool anybody anyway by
faking a
a "friendly" response when everybody knows I hated everybody, with my
being so full of myself and my importance in this "PC-dying" world (she
knows how I hate those smart mobiles!).

Four cores or none (who needs four cores anyway, just to melt the expensive
case we mortgaged our house for ?!), Linux or no Linux, soon you'll end up
with a piece of antique not worth the baddest neighborhood garage sale.
"If you still want a PC, go get a real job with a real company!).

With deep apologies from my wife,
a remorseful and contrite,
