The thing is, what's gained by changing the permissions on the scripts, or moving them around? Absolutely nothing, is the answer. The scripts are a handy tool for creating and cleaning up the certificate files, but they do nothing that couldn't be done just as easily with a text editor. No hacking tools required, just vi. So as long as the permissions on the certificate directory are correct, why worry so much about a couple of trivial scripts?
