I'm wondering if anybody else is seeing this, or if it is specific
to my setup (e.g. maybe related to using nfs).
I keep my notes on my server, mounted over nfs. When I am testing a
package, or trying to nderstand a problem, I update the relevant
notes file - sometimes I will have several terms open for cutting and
pasting. In the past few months, perhaps since we moved to gcc-5, I
sometimes find that vim in one of the terms has become unresponsive.
Often, I start to write new text and manage to write a few words
before it hangs. Other times, I attempt to paste and nothing gets
added.
The first few times this happened, I waited, and waited, to see if
it would rectify itself. I think that on one occassion it did, but
after a long delay (perhaps a couple of minutes). Other times, it
did not seem to recover. Now I just close the term, open a new
term, recover the file, delete the .swp file, and resume. But it is
really annoying ;-)
I've not seen anything like that, but you might want to try opening some
local files instead of remote ones to try to isolate the problem.
It really sounds like a network issue to me.
