On my normal LFS desktops I use urxvt, which I think is a fork of
rxvt. Works nicely, but configuration is very different from
*modern* graphical desktop terms (kde{4,5}, gnome, xfce, lxqt) and
it is those where I always have to change the default.
FWIW, on mint rxvt-unicode came up as black on white (I hate terms
with a light background), 80x24 oe thereabouts, and resolutely NOT
reading .Xresources after I had set that up. I'm used to a width of
100 characters, so 80x24 was ++unuseful.
